The Syntactic Atlas of Northern Italy (ASIt) project is a research programme whose aim is to record and analyse the variation displayed by the Northern Italian dialects with respect to some syntactic phenomena.  The (four) questionnaires are formed by four common components, followed by an additional set of more specific questionnaires. They aim to illustrate the syntactic features of declarative clauses (with and without subject, with a subject operator, post-verbal subject, etc.), interrogative and relative clauses (on the subject, on the object, on other complements, etc.), the various ways to express negation (pre-verbal, post-verbal, double), the syntax of clitics and their relation to the nature of their nominal antecedent, auxiliary selection and past participle agreement and the main constructions with modals.
